Yes, we do ship but, For most people it is not financially
practical to ship one or two animals as the cost is so high. Shipping Live Animals safely
(especially after 9/11) is expensive but for some
people it is the only way you can get the animals you want.
It is less expensive and less shocking to the animals to drive and pick up
the animals even if the animal is 300 miles away. If that is not possible we
can ship via pet-air freight.
The cost (depending on the time of year, fuel cost, and other items)
range from around $60 to $177.
More than one animal can be shipped in the same container the
cost is for the entire carrier not per animal and you can fit
several small animals in one small carrier. Most carriers allow you up to
50 pounds before they start charging more (and when shipping small animals
50 pounds is a lot of animals).
We receive countless e-mails that say something like..."I want to
buy a BLACK BEAR HAMSTER and have it shipped to
Texas". Well the hamster may only cost $6 bucks but the shipping will
cost $80.
Animals are
shipped on airplanes in a temperature and presser controlled cabin. We
take them to the air port in Wichita, KS in the morning and you pick up
the animal at your closest local major airport in the afternoon or early
evening.
We CAN NOT ship an animal if the temperature is above 85 or
below 45 anywhere along the route. The cabin on the plains are temperature
controlled but the time the animals are being loaded, unloaded or
moved from one plain to another there is no protection.
An example of the cost from three recent shipments shipped.
One was two sugar gliders in the same container and the other was 12
hairless rats in the same container the third had 50 Dumbo rats in two
containers taped together.
$60 to $177 Shipping cost (including fuel charge and all taxes)
$20 Shipping container cost (which will be refunded if you send it back to
us)
